Step-by-Step Guide:

If you’re planning to apply for the CAS-ANSO Fellowship for the 2024 cycle, it’s important to keep in mind that the review process begins on May 11 and continues through mid-June. Be sure to submit your application before May 10; otherwise, it will have to wait for the next round of reviews.

To get started, first, download and complete the official application form. This form is crucial as it captures all the basic information needed for your application.

You will also need to gather a few critical supporting documents:

  • A recent passport-sized color photograph of yourself.
  • A scanned copy of the personal information page of your passport.
  • Recommendation letters from a CAS host researcher who agrees to support your application.
  • A detailed plan of the research you intend to undertake.
  • If you are applying under the alumni category, don’t forget to include your diploma and proof of any previous scholarships.

Here’s how to navigate the application process smoothly:

  1. Identify a CAS Host: Start by finding a CAS host researcher who specializes in your area of interest and is willing to endorse your application. This relationship is pivotal as their support will be a significant part of your application.
  2. Compile Your Application: Collect all the necessary documents. Pay close attention to detail to ensure that every piece of information is accurate and presented clearly.
  3. Submit Your Application: Once you have all your documents and the application form ready, send them to your CAS host researcher. They will then forward your application to the fellowship office, so it’s crucial to choose a reliable and supportive host.
  4. Keep Track of Deadlines: Ensure all your documents are submitted before the deadline. Late submissions will not be reviewed until the next cycle, so planning and timeliness are key.
  5. Await the Decision: After your application has been submitted, the only thing left to do is wait. The decision will be communicated to you via your CAS host researcher.

Important Considerations

  • You cannot apply for the PIFI program at CAS and the CAS-ANSO Fellowship simultaneously.
  • Do not apply to multiple fellowship categories at the same time.
  • If you’ve received PIFI funding in 2022, 2023, or 2024, you’re not eligible for this fellowship cycle.

To kickstart your application process for the CAS-ANSO Fellowship, you’ll need to fill out the official application form. You can find and download this crucial document directly from their website.
