CSSS Scholarships 2025 Applications Invited
The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS), operational since 2008, continues to offer a valuable opportunity for meritorious students in India. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to students from families with an annual income of less than Rs. 4.5 lakh, helping them cover a portion of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education.
Scholarship Details:
- Total Scholarships Available: 82,000 annually (41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls).
- Eligibility: Students must be in the top 80th percentile of successful candidates in their respective streams from any recognized state board’s Class XII examination. The scholarship is open to those pursuing regular courses and who are not availing any other scholarship benefits.
- Scholarship Amount:
- Rs. 12,000 per annum for the first three years of college.
- Rs. 20,000 per annum for the fourth and fifth years.
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): The scholarship amount is directly transferred to the recipients’ bank accounts via the DBT mode using the PFMS gateway.

Important Dates:
- Application Deadline: October 31, 2024.
- Institute Level Verification: November 15, 2024.
- State Nodal Officer (SNO) Level Verification: November 30, 2024.
