Programme Overview
The Chevening LSE Fellowship allows selected fellows to engage in rigorous research for a period of three, six, or nine months at LSE. Participants will be embedded within a department or institute that aligns with their research focus and will be assigned an academic adviser to guide their work.
Fellows are expected to contribute to the academic community by completing a comprehensive research paper, culminating in a presentation at LSE. Additionally, they may audit lectures, attend seminars, and participate in discussions, enhancing their learning and broadening their professional networks.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of China, currently residing in the country, and committed to returning post-fellowship.
- Hold a postgraduate qualification or possess equivalent professional training.
- Demonstrate significant professional experience (minimum 5 years) or be a current PhD candidate (enrolled outside of the UK/EU/USA).
- Not hold dual British nationality.
- Not be an employee or close relative of an employee of His Majesty’s Government or related entities within the last two years.
- Comply with specific Chevening guidelines for applicants who have previously received UK government funding.
