What are the Royal Thai Government Scholarships?

The Royal Thai Government offers fully funded scholarships to students with excellent academic backgrounds from Thailand and other Asian countries. Here’s a breakdown of the scholarships available:

1. His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Ph.D. Programs

This scholarship is for students who have done well in their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and want to do a Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology, or Environmental Studies at AIT.

Who can apply? Students from Bhutan, Laos, Timor-Leste, ASEAN countries, and other parts of Asia.
Eligibility: You need a GPA of 3.5 or higher from both your undergraduate and master’s programs. You’ll also need an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher (or the AIT English Test equivalent).
What’s covered? Everything! Tuition, registration fees, accommodation, and living expenses for the entire 41-month Ph.D. program.

2. His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Master’s Programs

This scholarship is for students with strong academic records who want to study for a Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology.

Who can apply? Students from any Asian country.
Eligibility: A GPA of 3.5 or higher from your undergraduate degree and an IELTS score of 6.0 or more.
What’s covered? Full coverage of tuition, accommodation, and living expenses for the 22-month Master’s program.

3. Her Majesty the Queen’s Scholarships for Master’s Programs

If you’re passionate about the environment, this scholarship is for you! It’s for students who want to study Environmental programs at AIT.

Who can apply? Students from any Asian country.
Eligibility: You’ll need a GPA of 3.5 or more from your undergraduate degree and an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.
What’s covered? Like the others, this scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and living expenses for the 22-month Master’s program.

4. Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS Scholarships) for Master’s Programs

This scholarship supports students from the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), which includes Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Yunnan and Guangxi provinces in China, and Thailand. You can study subjects like Infrastructure, Energy, Natural Resources, or Environmental Management.

Eligibility: You need a 3.5 GPA and an IELTS score of 6.0 or more.
What’s covered? Full tuition, accommodation, and living expenses for the 22-month program.
