National Library Digital Fellowship 2024
The National Library Digital Fellowship in Singapore is a perfect opportunity for scholars, librarians, historians, and anyone interested in digital research to explore the history, arts, and culture of Singapore and Southeast Asia using advanced digital tools.
What’s the Fellowship About?
This program is designed for both local and international researchers who want to use digital methods like data visualization, text analysis, and digital storytelling to discover new insights from historical data. You can apply alone or with a partner.
Fellowship Benefits
- Duration and Support: The fellowship lasts for six months. You’ll get a monthly stipend of S$3,500 to help with living and travel expenses. If you’re coming from abroad, there’s extra help for relocation and housing.
- Resources Provided: You’ll have a workspace at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library, access to both digital and physical collections, and guidance from library experts.
Research Opportunities

- Socio-historical studies using visual and audio analyses.
- Digital storytelling and data visualization.
- Comparative studies of early Singaporean and Malayan publications.
Application Process
Interested candidates must submit:
- A completed application form.
- A detailed curriculum vitae.
- A comprehensive research proposal not exceeding ten pages.
