Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the H.J. Heinz Fellowship, you must:

  • Have been accepted to a Master’s program at the University of Pittsburgh starting the upcoming academic year in one of the following schools:
    • Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH)
    • Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA)
    • School of Law
    • School of Education
    • School of Nursing
  • Hold an undergraduate university degree.
  • Be proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Preferably be at the early or mid-stage of your career.

What Does the Fellowship Involve?

  • Delivering at least one presentation related to your professional experience.
  • Participating in community outreach, such as speaking about your home country to local students or community groups.

Benefits of the Fellowship

The Heinz Fellowship offers:

  • A living stipend of $19,200, distributed in monthly installments.
  • An additional $1,000 for program and professional activities.

Completing the Fellowship

Upon finishing the program, you must submit a final report detailing your experiences and future plans. This is not only a reflection of your journey but also serves as a valuable resource for future fellows. Successful submission of this report will earn you a Heinz Program certificate from the University Center for International Studies (UCIS).
