But, before we dive into the scholarships available in Hong Kong, let’s take a look at what it would be like to study in Hong Kong.

Top Universities in Hong Kong:

Living Cost and Working with a Student Visa in Hongkong:

Now, this comes as a pretty big disappointment that living in Hong Kong is ridiculously over-priced, and to top it all off, working as an international student is quite a hassle. The students refrained from taking up jobs except for internships that have been arranged by their respective institutions. Other than that, the students can only work on campus which must be part-time and should not exceed 20 hours a week. One silver lining is that the students can work full-time during the summer when the academic session is off.

In terms of sustaining life in Hong Kong, you need to be prepared to spend a huge chunk of money on living costs. Living on-campus is cheaper and will cost around 5,000 – 15,000 HKD (650 – 2000 USD) a semester. Other living costs may require 30,000 – 50,000 HKD (around 4,000 – 6,500 USD) a year.

Language Proficiency Requirements in Hongkong:

The prospective international students are only exempted from proving their English Language proficiency if their mother tongue or native language is English or if they have obtained their last degree from a place where English was the primary medium of instruction. If that is not the case, then the students will have to present the scores of IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable equivalent exams.
