1- CSC scholarship (Fully-funded)
If you have top class academic record then i will recommend you to apply for fully funded CSC scholarship in 2024 because this covers full tuition/registration/application fees expense, free of cost accommodation or CNY 1000 per month for housing rental, and a monthly stipend of around CNY 2500 for bachelors students; CNY 3000 for MS students or CNY 3500 per month for Phd students.
2- CSC scholarship (Partially Funded)
China scholarship council also offer partial CSC scholarships at some of their universities to BS, MS, and Phd students and in case if you get this CSC partial scholarship offer then that would include your tuition fees expense and free residence whereas you will have to manage living expenses yourself because monthly stipend money is not included in this type of CSC scholarship.
3- CSC Scholarship (Only Tuition fee coverage)
This is most unfavorable type of Chinese government scholarship which only pays a portion of your tuition fees while you will be responsible for paying all other expenses including your residence in China.
Age limit to Apply for CSC Scholarships in 2024
You can submit your online application at any Chinese university which is offering Chinese government scholarship under the umbrella of China scholarship council if your age limit is under 40 years if applying for doctoral (Phd) programme, or under 35 years for master degree (MS), or under 25 years if applying for bachelor (BS) degree programme in 2024.
Application Process Chinese Government Scholarship 2024-2025
Very first thing that you need to understand is that China scholarship council accept applications for CSC scholarships from 3 different channels and this is why they created 3 categories of application channels and this is your task to deicide which route you would choose to submit your CSC scholarship 2024 application.
- CSC Scholarship Type A (Chinese Embassy Route)
Type A CSC scholarship route can be choosen if in your country Chinese embassy is receiving direct applications and in this regards when you will fill out your CSC scholarship form then you must select type A option.
- CSC Scholarship Type B (Chinese University Route)
This second method is going to be very common in 2024-2025 because international students can take advantage of Chinese universities CSC scholarship quota to submit their admission applications directly at 275+ Chinese universities websites but for that upon filling CSC scholarship application form you must select Type B option.
- CSC Scholarship Type C (Application via other sources)
Chinese government via their China scholarship council department also provide certain quota to international universities for exchange programs, or to their international Chinese langauge institutions and in case if your mode of application is via any of these channels then you will be required to select Type C in CSC scholarship application form in 2024.
CSC Scholarship 2024-2025 Application Forms (How to fill)
International students find it very complex when applying for CSC scholarship in China because there are over 275+ Chinese universities which will be accepting online applications for CSC scholarships in 2024-2025. Therefore, let guide you with this as there are two important online application forms that needs to be filled out by international students as listed below:
- CSC China Scholarship Council Online Application Form
- Chinese Universities’ online admission application form
First of all you have to decide which three Chinese universities (Add agency number of those Universities) which are your top priorities and then you have to submit your CSC China scholarship council application form in which you will select type B scholarship route, then you will fill that CSC form, submit it, and download its copy.
Now you have to go to those Chinese Universities international student office websites to start filling your admission application form where you will also be requried to attach copy of your downloaded CSC form, all academic documents, research proposal, study plan, motivation letter, physical exam report, and recommendation letters.

As you know there are over 275 Chinese universities which are on panel of CSC scholarship therefore every university has its own application deadline which ranges from December 31, 2023 till April 30, 2024 for the class of September 2024.
