Additionally, you’ll receive a generous living allowance of £17,000 to help cover your daily expenses. To further your professional development, the scholarship provides an annual travel allowance of £2,200, allowing you to attend leading AI conferences around the world. A one-off equipment grant of £1,700 is also included to help you set up the perfect study environment.

Eligible Master’s Programs Offered at QMU London in 2024

You can apply for this scholarship if you plan to enroll in one of the following full-time Master’s courses:

  • MSc Artificial Intelligence
  • MSc Computer Science
  • MSc Machine Learning for Visual Data Analytics
  • MSc Computer Games
  • MSc Bioinformatics
  • MSc AI in the Biosciences
  • MSc AI for Drug Discovery
  • MSc AI and Machine Learning in Sciences

Who Should Apply?

We strongly encourage female students and students from Black backgrounds—including Black British, Black African, Black Caribbean, and those of mixed Black and another ethnicity—to apply for this scholarship. This initiative aims to diversify the field of AI and support underrepresented groups in advancing their educational and professional goals.

This year, we are offering three scholarships:

  • Two for Home students, one covering courses in AI and computer science, and another for bioscience-related programs.
  • One for an International student, applicable across any of the eight eligible programs.

How to Apply

To ensure a smooth application process:

  1. Check Your Eligibility: Confirm that you belong to one of the underrepresented groups and have received an offer for one of the specified Master’s programs.
  2. Prepare Your Application: Gather your Queen Mary Applicant ID, a thoughtful statement of purpose that details your motivation for pursuing a Master’s in AI, and your aspirations for utilizing the scholarship.
  3. Submit Online: Apply through the official Queen Mary University of London scholarship portal before the deadline.
