Eligibility Criteria for UN Internships:

  • They are enrolled in a graduate program i.e. a bachelor’s, master’s, or a Ph.D.
  • They are enrolled in the senior year of their undergraduate program i.e. a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
  • They have graduated with a university degree (as described above). These candidates will have to start their internship within a year of their graduation, in the event they get selected for the internship.

Candidates will have to show their genuine interest in the development work and the mission of the UNDP. They should have a desire to work with and gain the respect of people speaking different languages and who are from culturally diverse backgrounds. They should be interested in relocating and should not be afraid of tough situations or working in continuously changing environments. They should have a proactive approach to handling situations and should be highly adaptable.

Language Requirements:

Applicants should have fluency in at least one of the following languages. Those candidates who are fluent in two of the following languages will be given preference.

  • English
  • French
  • Spanish

Knowing languages like Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, or Eastern European language is a plus point.
